Ritornello Collection Clarinet inspired pendant
"Ritornello" means "little return" in Italian. It is a term used to describe the instrumental interlude between soloists in a Baroque opera or concerto. I chose "ritornello" because I am returning a little piece of a woodwind instrument to another life in the form of jewelry.
This pendant is a reimagining of the original Ritornello Collection concept of using upcycled instrument keys. What I have done instead is made a clarinet key from scratch out of solid silver in order to be able to do more sculptural things with it.
The stone is turquoise from the Cumpas mine in Mexico. Comes with an 18 inch silver plated snake chain. The hole you see in the back was part of the production process to keep the hollow key part from rupturing during assembly. The bail is large enough to fit just about any style of chain or ribbon through there, so the sky is the limit in regards to how you wear it.
