Bass clarinet wood pendant and necklace
Necklace length: 19 Inches; Pendant height: 3.5 Inches; Pendant width: 1 Inches
This piece has a very convoluted story, so I will give you the abridged version.
The cabochon is made from a piece of bass clarinet body. I inlaid crushed variscite into the wood, then set it in sterling silver. The bail is very large, so you can fit some fairly substantial necklaces through it. The necklace I made for it (including those sterling silver end caps) is a stand-alone piece, so you can wear it separately if you don't feel like wearing the pendant that day. The ring on the necklace clasp is from an E11 clarinet. The beads are Taiwanese cheesewood, onyx, hematite, turquoise, and silver plated copper. The hook on the clasp is fine silver.
The earrings are sold separately. I made them from the same bass clarinet. You can even see part of the instrument's serial number!
