RITORNELLO Collection Oboe Inspired Reversible Pendant
"Ritornello" means "little return" in Italian. It is a term used to describe the instrumental interlude between soloists in a Baroque opera or concerto. I chose "ritornello" because I am returning a little piece of a woodwind instrument to another life in the form of jewelry.
This pendant is a reimagining of the original Ritornello Collection concept of using upcycled instrument keys. What I have done instead is made an oboe A-flat key from scratch out of solid silver in order to be able to do more sculptural things with it.
The stone is Bamboo Mountain turquoise, a very highly prized type of turquoise from China. The pendant comes with an 18" silver plated snake chain. The pendant can be worn with the stone's face facing out or the key sculpture facing out.
