Each individual layer of the waterlilies are cut from sterling silver sheet and soldered together. The setting is raised so that the stone appears to be "floating" on the surface of the lily pads. The lily pads are cut from thin silver sheet and engraved with lines to appear more realistic. The frog is a sterling silver casting done by Stephanie Thurmond in Castroville, Texas. The stone is Tibetan turquoise from a vintage stash acquired in the 1970s.
