These earrings are the throat G and E/B on the left hand of an Evette plastic clarinet. The ear wires are surgical stainless steel. The embellishments are 10k gold plated steel beads and color coated copper wire.
This instrument was given to me by a young woman who bought herself a brand new clarinet for Christmas and didn’t want her old one. I was going to refurbish it until I saw that the inside of the bore had been severely gouged by what looked like a flat head screwdriver. When I asked her about it, she said when she was in 7th grade, she got her swab stuck, so she gave it to her dad to try to get it unstuck. Her father thought he could force it out by putting a screwdriver inside and using it as a chisel while he hammered the handle. Technically, he was able to remove the swab. However, in so doing, he absolutely destroyed the inside of the instrument, and it couldn’t play in tune. Since there is no way to fix a plastic bore when it has been gouged, I opted to make jewelry out of the keys instead.
