DEFORD FLUTE EARRINGS: abandoned flute found in Bellamah, Washington that was so rusted that the keys had to be cut off to get them loose from the body. During the manufacture of this instrument, the plating solution was contaminated with dust, so the silver plating was very thin and did not adhere to the metal, hence the brushed finish. The keys are the C and D trill keys and are silver plated. The ear wires are sterling silver.
