Roserita is a manmade product that is leftover from 19th century gold refining processes. Also known as "gold slag glass", roserita is the impurities that rise to the top when gold refiners melted gold ore in a big crucible to get rid of the stuff that isn't gold. They would skim the impurities off the top with a big ladle and dump them on the ground, and that's where roserita comes from!
