Oboe key and Red River turquoise pendant
"Ritornello" means "little return" in Italian. It is a term used to describe the instrumental interlude between soloists in a Baroque opera or concerto. I chose "ritornello" because I am returning a little piece of a woodwind instrument to another life in the form of jewelry.
This pendant is made from the F resonance key from a vintage oboe that met an unfortunate end. The stone is Red River turquoise from the Red River mine in Hubei, China. The chain is sterling silver snake-style and 18 inches long with a lobster claw clasp.
