Clarinet key pendant with Mexican turquoise
"Ritornello" means "little return" in Italian. It is a term used to describe the instrumental interlude between soloists in a Baroque opera or concerto. I chose "ritornello" because I am returning a little piece of a woodwind instrument to another life in the form of jewelry.
This pendant is from the first finger right hand key of a Buffet E11. This particular instrument had a long and productive life, and after making it through 12 years of marching band, it decided that enough was enough and cracked all to pieces. The turquoise is from the Cumpas mine in Mexico.
Sterling silver snake-style chain is 18 inches long.
