It is I, returned for another installment of adventures in jewelry making! Today I saw on my Facebook feed that a jewelry magazine was having a design contest for the month of December, and, as luck would have it, the deadline for entry was this very afternoon. I wasn't exactly sure my recently finished wire weaving piece really fit into the theme for this month's competition, but I figured it was worth a shot, and I certainly didn't have anything to lose. Check out the pictures I took! Oh, and I named the pendant "Maelstrom".
Here is the entry I sent in to the design contest. Like I said, I'm not entirely sure it fits in with the theme of "Kaleidoscope", but they did mention swirls, and this piece is pretty swirly, so...
Here it is in its full glory. I think I may enter this one in the juried art show and sale that the Dallas Craft Guild hosts in the spring. We shall see. In the mean time, I'm working on a companion piece to "Maelstrom". Any ideas on what I should name it? Maybe "Charybdis"? Or "Maelstrom II"? More on that later. Thanks for reading!
