Well, this has certainly been an adventure. Since I have never had a blog in my life, I figured I might as well try to be "hip" and "cool" like everybody else on this here interweb and put one on my jewelry page. Suffice to say, I have NO IDEA what I'm doing. I'm not even really sure anyone would want to read this schlock I'm writing at the moment, but in order to have a blog, one must make a post, so here it is in all its glory. That is, if the prevailing technology allows me to publish it. I predict a lot of operator error in the first few attempts. Oh, well. At least my cats tolerate me.
Please allow me to tell you a bit about what's going on. Under normal circumstances (if you can call them that), I am a woodwind instrument repair technician specializing in clarinet restoration. I've been doing that for fifteen years and by all accounts have gotten pretty good at it. I didn't mean to get into jewelry making. It just kind of happened. The true irony in all of this is that I do not wear jewelry all that often. I don't even have pierced ears. However, I really enjoy creating things using metal and gemstones and beads. Most of these subsequent blog posts will be about ongoing projects and what I learn from them. Some will be shameless self-promotion of pieces I have for sale or art/craft shows I will be exhibiting at. Some will be about my cats trying to "help" in the shop. A few will be cranky rants because I'm forty now and cranky rants become a thing when you turn forty. At any rate, I hope these blogs entertain you, amuse you, educate you, or at the very least kill some time while you're *ahem* powdering your nose. I am Heather Karlsson, and I approve this message.
